NSF Now Accepting Proposals for the IUSE:EHR Program

The NSF IUSE:EHR Program invites proposals which address current challenges and opportunities facing undergraduate STEM education. In addition, proposals that anticipate new structure and functions of undergraduate learning and teaching are also encouraged to be submitted for consideration. The goal of the IUSE:EHR Program is to facilitate the provision of highly effective, evidence-based teaching and learning experiences for undergraduate students in STEM courses.

Proposers can select one of two tracks to submit a proposal. The Engaged Student Learning track supports the development, use, and testing of instructional practices and curricular innovation that engage and improve student learning and retention in STEM. The Institutional and Community Transformation track supports efforts to increase the propagation of highly effective, evidence-based teaching and learning by promoting this activity broadly at the discipline, academic department and institutional levels. Within each track are two project tiers: 1) Exploration and Design and 2) Development and Implementation.

There is no single deadline for the Exploration and Design Tier for both the Engaged Student Learning and Institutional and Community tracks. Applications will be accepted from October 1, 2017, through October 1, 2018 (5:00 pm local submitter’s time). However, any proposals submitted after May 1, 2018 will be held for funding consideration in the next fiscal year.
