Spelman may nominate up to two faculty members for National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Stipends. These highly competitive $6000 fellowships are intended to support two consecutive months of full-time work on a scholarly project. Successful proposals generally have a tangible product that can be produced in two months, such as a book chapter or article that is already conceptualized. Exploratory projects are not typically funded. Interested Humanities faculty members should contact Claudia Scholz by August 18, 2017. If more than two people are interested, we will have to convene an internal selection committee. Full proposals are due September 27, 2017.
