In February 2006, the Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library hosted its inaugural faculty scholarship celebration and compiled the Atlanta University Center Faculty Publications: A Selected Bibliography. This living document has been updated annually and can be accessed through the Digital Commons @ Robert W. Woodruff Library link on the website. The event has afforded the library with a mechanism for identifying the scholarly works of AUC faculty, and insuring that those titles are added to the Woodruff Library collection. During the week of March 19–23, 2018 the Library will host its annual Celebration of AUC Faculty Achievements, recognizing AUC faculty scholarship across all disciplines. An exhibit of selected faculty works from member institutions will be on display throughout the week.
This is an opportunity to highlight your scholarly accomplishments as a part of this celebration, and include your work(s) in the Atlanta University Center Faculty Publications bibliography. Please forward a list of your publications or a copy of your curriculum vitae to Jordan Moore by Wednesday, March 7. Also, if you are interested in being a presenter during this week of celebration, please contact Ms. Moore to discuss logistics and arrange a time to present.
You are also encouraged to deposit your works in the AUC Woodruff Library Digital Commons e-scholarship institutional repository. Established in 2005, the e-scholarship institutional repository currently hosts over 9,200 full text items. These resources have been downloaded more than 883,000 times. Benefits of contributing to AUC Woodruff Library e-scholarship repository include:
- Support of open access and scholarly communication initiatives;
- Global exposure and discovery of your research through search internet engines;
- Promotion of new forms of scholarly publishing including born digital peer-reviewed journals; and
- Distribution of and access to federally funded research.
Faculty interested in depositing their works into the AUC Woodruff Library Digital Commons institutional repository are encouraged to contact Christine Wiseman, Digital Services Unit Head, at 404-978-2038 or email@example.com.
