Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) is continuing as a Historically Black Colleges and Universities-Center for Excellence in Behavioral Health (HBCU-CFE). Funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, as a HBCU-CFE MSM will work with all HBCUs to promote student behavioral health, workforce development, and student retention. One way the HBCU-CFE will support these endeavors is through sponsoring the Behavioral Health Capacity Expansion Sub-Award Program. This program allows HBCUs to foster behavioral health careers through internships, expand knowledge of culturally appropriate, evidence-based and emerging best practices, expand screening and referral services for students at risk for behavioral health disorders, and support educational activities focused on behavioral health and prevention strategies.
All HBCUs can apply for the Behavioral Health Capacity Expansion Sub-Award.
Check out the HBCU-CFE website for more information.
The RFA can be found here: HBCU-CFE-RFA-2017-2018f
Due to the impact of Hurricane IRMA on HBCU campuses, the deadline has been extended to September 28, 2017.
