The ONR invites you to apply to two research programs for U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents who hold teaching or research appointments at U.S. colleges.
Summer Faculty Research Program
The Summer Faculty Research Program is an opportunity to conduct research for 10 weeks at one of 18 participating ONR facilities. Awardees are provided with travel, housing and a competitive stipend. All work must be completed on site at the sponsoring U.S. Navy Laboratory. There are three levels of appointment available in this program: Summer Faculty Fellow, Senior Summer Faculty Fellow, and Distinguished Summer Faculty Fellow. The earliest start date for appointments is May, 1, 2016.
Sabbatical Leave Program
The Sabbatical Leave Program allows qualified faculty to spend a minimum of one semester up to a maximum of one year engaging in scholarly, creative, professional, research or other activities at one of 17 participating ONR facilities. Participants receive a monthly stipend equal to the difference between their salary and sabbatical leave pay from home institution. Relocation, travel assistance is also provided for awardees.
