The National Institute on Aging (NIA) is hosting an intensive introduction to aging this summer. The Butler-Williams Scholars Program (formerly known as the Summer Institute on Aging Research) is for investigators that are new to aging research. This program will focus on the areas of research supported by NIA, including basic biology, neuroscience, behavioral and social research, geriatrics, and clinical gerontology. Additionally, this program will discuss health disparities, research methodologies, and funding opportunities. Recent M.D, Ph.D., or other doctoral level degree recipients are encouraged to apply. The Butler-Williams Scholars Program will offer unparalleled access to NIA and NIH staff in an informal setting.
The 2017 Butler-Williams Scholars Program will be held July 31-August 4, 2017 in Bethesda, Maryland. Assistance for travel and living expenses available for most participants.
