The National Gallery of Art’s Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts (CASVA) is currently accepting applications for its Paul Mellon and Alisa Mellon Bruce Visiting Senior Fellowships program. The goal of these fellowships is to support research in the history, theory, and criticism of the visual arts. Eligible scholars must have held a Ph.D. for a minimum of five years or possess an equivalent record of professional accomplishment. Up to twelve short-term fellowships (up to 60 days) are awarded annually. Stipends for these full-time fellowships range from $6,000 to $8,000; housing is provided for fellows who need to relocate to Washington, DC, subject to availability.
