I absolutely love traveling! Quiet as it’s kept, it’s a big part of what motivated me to become an anthropologist! In college I traveled to Venezuela, Brazil, South Africa, and England. In graduate school I traveled to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Nigeria. Since coming to Spelman, I have taken advantage of several opportunities to travel.
In January 2011 and 2012 I participated in the Faculty Resource Network Winter Seminars on The Global Economy (2011) and Women of the Atlantic (2012) in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Click Here to See Photo Gallery!
In February 2012, I participated in a faculty/staff site visit to evaluate SIT study abroad programs in Cochabamba and La Paz, Bolivia. Click Here to See Photo Gallery!
In March 2013 I was invited to be the Faculty Lead for the Spelman Museum Art and Culture Tour of Brazil. In 10 days, we visited museums and cultural sites in Ouro Preto, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, and Salvador, Brazil. Click Here to See Photo Gallery!
In May 2013 I participated in a faculty development seminar in Jerusalem and the West Bank. It was a transformative experience! Click Here to See Photo Gallery!
